Trips
I am in love with America's National Parks. Every year I try to visit at least one park. If I am lucky, I may get to two or three. Such was the case in 2017, when I visited Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Parks. It was in the summer time, so I had to share the parks with a lot of others. But the beauty of those parks is that even when they are crowded, one can still feel the peace, tranquility, and wonder associated with those majestic locations. In some cases, due to the sheer size of the park, the crowds do not seem to impact one's enjoyment.
Glacier is connected to Canada's Waterton Lakes National Park, so I crossed the border to visit this unique biosphere shared by the two countries. Referred to as Waterton - Glacier International Peace Park, this area has received the International Dark-Sky Association's (IDA) designation as Provisional International Dark Sky Park. It is the first designation in the history of IDA's International Dark Sky Places Program that spans an international boundary. Since the designation had been conferred only a couple of months before my visit, with curiosity getting the best of me, I had to see the night sky for myself and through the lens of my camera.
Here's a sample of the beautiful places.
